Nothing can be compared to the feeling of national pride when gets from energetically teaching twenty red and white dressed Korean students the magic of tree tapping as they shovel pancakes and maple syrup down their throat. Seeing/Tasting is Believing!
Roberta and I really decided to ‘do up’ Canada Day with out Kindergarteners. Roberta really went to town and had some amazing activities planned. We started the activities with a little tag type of game entitled Beaver and Beaver lodges (one student was it and the other had to get safe in a beaver lodge which were created when two children held hands), a traditional leap frog game, a little Frisbee action, we created a thunderstorm with our hands (Native American rain prayer of sorts), and finally enjoyed some pancakes avec maple syrup. We finished the day by showing the map of Canada, sharing a couple of facts, and making a little beaver craft. Mom and Dad get the couches ready because I think we may have 20 new visitors!
